Time-Series Artificial Intelligence
Using modern open-source technologies for enriching time-series data into information, knowledge, then action.

What is it?
A time-series data platform to manage tags, auto-generate and annotate events, and facilitate AI model development and sustainable use.

Platform
Connecting to PLCs and similar time-series sources. Manage and visualize data through web UI or a custom excel add-in. Makes your process plant data accessible and usable.

Deployment Support
Technical expertise supporting tag governance, redundancy, event logic. and the development of time-series based AI models.
Why Now?
Time Series data base landscape has changed
New open-source time-series databases has made the capabilities that were previously cost-prohibitive, accessible and simple.
TSAI is designed for managing and manipulating time-series data, creating opportunities to digitize and annotate events, such as plant maintenance (“down”) events, speed losses occurrences.

Auto-generating key events, then annotating.
Automatically detecting key plant events, such as periods of instability, speed losses, and delays, then facilitating the operator or supervisor to annotate the event, such as applying a delay code.
Simplify the user interface
Traditional time-series platforms, known as “Historians” are notoriously complex to manage and use.
Simplifying the user interface for visualization, event logic, and annotation through the most common analytics tool (MS Excel) delivers simplicity and accessibility to users.

Excel Add-in
TSAI has an excel add-in that allows admins to manage tag nomenclature, create new ad-hoc tables, create and manage event triggers and calculated tags, and even query the database.
The add-in also allows for simple querying and annotation, digitizing information that foremen and operators traditionally recorded on paper then typed into spreadsheets at shift-end.
From Events to Engaging Performance Management
Information is only valuable if one takes action or induces action from information. TSAI is designed to work with Dr. Data Mining’s Performa gamification platform.
TSAI generates the new calculated tags or events to calculate performance issues in the plant (e.g. states of underperformance such as low yield, periods of quality issues, or unplanned maintenance events).
.

Overall Equipment Efficiency
Continuous processes such as plant operations or continuous mining methods should also follow OEE principles, including productivity slow-downs. TSAI incorporates a customizable Time-Usage Model following industry guidelines. Feeding this information, or AI model results into the DDM’s performance gamification process, Performa, closes the loop between data to action.
